Step 01

Drinks, Introductions and Orientation

We meet at a real Austin honky tonk — the kind locals actually go to. Over the first round (on me), I'll share the history of Austin two-step, the customs and etiquette of the floor, and some insider stories about local dance and music lore. By the time we leave for the lesson, you'll already feel like you belong here.

Step 02

Private Two-Step Lesson

Away from the main floor, I'll tailor the lesson to your group's experience level. We cover the fundamentals of two-step: the footwork, the frame, and most importantly — connection. How to move with a partner, not just beside them. By the end you'll have the confidence to step onto any floor and feel at ease.

Step 03

Break for Food

Every great Austin night has a taco break. I'll point you toward a few local spots nearby — nothing tourist-facing, just good food and good company. It's a chance to breathe, catch up, and let what you just learned settle in.

The Night Venue

Then the real evening begins. We move to one of Austin's finest live music venues, chosen for the quality of the band and the caliber of the dancers on the floor. Your entry is covered. The music is exceptional. This is the kind of room where people who live this scene spend their evenings.

Dancing Like a Local

This is where everything comes together. I'll help you onto the floor, introduce you to the community, and stay close as you find your rhythm within the room. By the end of the night, you'll move through it as someone who belongs there.
